Your mission
The Global Librarian is primarily responsible for coordinating the Campus Librarians in order to provide information services and training to Schiller International University faculty, staff and students, including reference services; bibliographic and electronic instruction; and promotion of library services and resources. Local library function is shaped by the mission and the educational programs of the institution.
Your profile
Strategic Management:
  • Coordinated management of the University Library through all campuses.
  • Developing a continuous assessment strategy for library resources and information services that includes staff and faculty. 
  • Ensuring that library services are provided to all learners, both on-ground and online.
  • Define library services and work strategy with faculty to develop library program, course complementary reading and resource lists, and information literacy assignments, workshops, and instruction.
  • Collect and disseminate library metrics, including circulation and interlibrary loan statistics, student satisfaction data, and acquisition requests.
  • Develop handouts, user guides and other library services documents.
  • Market Library resources and services through documents, promotions, and programs.
  • Management of the E-Book and Digital Content Platform (Vital Source) for all campuses facilitating the e-books/e-textbooks usage rights acquisition from various publishers and Vital Source.  
Service Specific:
  • Assure the maintenance of the organization of the library facilities and performs other relevant duties as assigned.
  • Assure library policies regarding collection use, misuse, acquisition, library services, inter- library loan, etc.
  • Develop or manage workshops, conferences, course work, etc. to the organization and local Librarian teams.
  • Managing and maintaining assigned budget.
  • Performs any other duties or special projects as assigned by the Academic Dean, Provost or Campus Director.
 Community:
  • To create a positive image in the community of the campus.
Position requirements
  • Master's degree (MLS. MUS or MS) in Library lnformation Studies or similar.
  • Experience : 2- 3 years' experience in an academic  library and bibliographic instruction.
  • Working knowledge of common academic databases and library management software.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word,Excel, PowerPoint,and Outlook) and common Internet search engines.
  • Fluent English.
  • Fluent in Spanish, French or German will be a plus.
